Structure Jacking & Load Transfers / Concrete Repairs & Restoration
Both north bound lanes and south bound lanes bridge structures over Russell Rd were in dire conditions from years of water and de-icing salts seepage through the joints and showing extensive damage to the concrete substructure members, the steel girder bearings and bearing pedestals. OTB Contracting was hired to perform all the concrete substructure repair and restoration (Shotcrete repairs, crack repairs & waterproofing) as well as the design and implementation of the bridge Jacking & Bearing replacements (total of 52 bridge bearings & 16 pedestals replaced). In addition minor structural steel repairs were performed to the SBL Bridge western girders.
